  • You're so close to seeing what infrared hot yoga can add to your life. New students are encouraged to start with a Single Class Drop in or a New Student - 3 classes for $30 package. Most beginners find that after 3 to 5 classes, they feel so much better in their body from the yoga, and feel more confident in the hot yoga room. Pre-registration is required for all classes. You can book classes through our website or download the mindbody app to your phone and search for Sage Yoga Hot + Pilates for the Newport location or Sage Yoga Hot for the OTR and Harper’s Point (Montgomery) location to view additional classes and package options. The mindbody app is the BEST option to use for scheduling and purchasing. Please be sure to use the correct location on the app since the OH and KY studios operate independently.

  • New students are encouraged to start a New Student Special - 3 classes for $60 (expires after 2 weeks). If you’ve never done Reformer Pilates email studio@sageyogahot.com and let us know; we’ll schedule some time with you so you feel comfortable coming in for your first group class. We also offer intro/beginner reformer classes on our schedule.

  • If you’ve never done yoga we suggest your first class to be a Flow to Flow or Gentle class. If you’re experienced in yoga but have never practiced in the heat we suggest the same classes with an addition to our Slow Flow. The New Student Special gives you the opportunity to explore different styles. Please note class is held in a dimly lit room, the music is on the louder side, and the room will be heated. This is to awaken your inner Sage!

  • Go for comfort over style: tank tops, sports bra, breathable tees, yoga shorts/pants, or running shorts are ideal. Avoid sweats and long-sleeve shirts.

  • A yoga mat, mat towel or sweat towel, and a bottle of water. We also have these items for rent and purchase. We require grippy socks worn during Reformer Pilates and have them for sale at the studio if you need some.

  • With regular practice, hot yoga can do wonders for your immune system. However, if you are sick or have a cold, Covid19 or flu-like symptoms, or fever, please stay home. We encourage you be well hydrated and fed. Students with fever are not permitted in the hot room.

  • Each class begins promptly at the scheduled class start time. We expect everyone to be in the room before class starts, and the studio opens 15 minute before class. No late arrivals are permitted. The doors will be locked for safety and security reasons. Arriving at the door at the time class starts is considered late. Late Cancellation fees and class no shows are charged to your account at $15-$20 per occurrence.

  • Aim to practice 3 to 5 times a week. The more often you practice, the quicker you will see results. Sometimes it takes a few classes for your body to get acclimated to exercising in a heated environment. We encourage new students to practice at least 10 times in the first 30 days to give this yoga a fair chance and to really see the benefits in daily life.

  • We encourage all students to stay in the yoga room for the entire 60 minutes. Before leaving the room, we suggest sitting down and taking as many breaks as needed. Moving between the high heat and the cool lobby actually puts more stress on your body. The class is a “meditation” and part of the practice is building your concentration, determination, and self control. You will be amazed at how quickly your body and mind acclimate to and find discipline in the heat. You do not need permission to leave the room, but it improves your practice and the benefits for your body to stay in the room for the entire 60 minutes. If you absolutely must leave the room, please attempt to do so quietly and most importantly safely.

  • Yes! Yoga helps heal old injuries and prevent new ones. The heat is therapeutic for your muscles, joints, and tissue. For existing injuries and medical conditions, the healing process can be supported with the continued practice of hot yoga. We ask students to notify the instructor of any existing injuries so they can help you during class (making sure we have an alert in your file is another way to help us remember). The general guide when practicing with an injury is: take it easy, listen to your body, and perform postures to your tolerance level. The instructor will offer modifications throughout the practice, please honor your body and remember that just coming to your mat to sit IS practicing yoga.

  • Maybe. Heat and pregnancy don't always go hand-in-hand—unless your body is used to it with consistent practice (at least 6 months) and you have permission from your doctor. You will be required to bring a release from your doctor in order to continue to practice in the hot room. Private classes are also a great option and a perfect way to connect with your baby and changing body. Email studio@sageyogahot.com to book a private class.

  • Yes! Both Reformer Pilates and Hot yoga are excellent additions to any exercise. Both practices help align and strengthen your body - especially in the places that other forms of exercise might miss. For many athletes in the Greater Cincinnati area, hot yoga is an amazing way to heal and recover from stress their bodies experience with high-impact sports or other workout, with the addition of working out their mind; and Reformer Pilates is a great injury preventer!
